Preface to The Little Scroll

When I began the task of putting on paper the events which I witnessed concerning al Qai'da's attempted New Era terrorist operation in the US in November of 1997 Usama bin Laden and al Qai'da were not household terms. As an example, in 1998, when I began researching the internet for additional clues as to the nature and identities of the persons responsible for the heinous crimes committed against God and humanity, a search on the Internet for Usama bin Laden resulted in 2 'hits'. On December 7, 2001 I received 1,950,000 on the Google.com search engine. As another example, before the tragic day of September 11, 2001 the daily visits to Terrorist Watch were 6. Since September 11 this site has logged over 650,000 visits. In only three months over 55,000 people have read the introduction to "The Little Scroll".

Using the Terrorist Watch Web site at http://terroristwatch.tripod.com as a vehicle for my voice, I have been screaming since 1998 until I was blue in the face that these morally bereft fanatics would never stop until their goal of the destruction of Western Civilization was achieved. Unfortunately, as the tragic events of September 11, 2001 have demonstrated, my voice fell on deaf ears.

There are very few people in the US other than myself who have personal knowledge of Usama bin Laden and the al Qai'da terrorist organization. In The Little Scroll I have identified; Usama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, bin Laden's top Lieutenant, Abu Zubaydah, al Qai'da's coordinator of international operations, Djamel Beghal, who until his recent arrest in Dubai, U.A.E., was al Qai’da's coordinator of European operations, and many others. These men all had a direct role in the New Era terrorist operation in 1997. I have spent an extended period of time with all of these men except for Abu Zubaydah. I did not see him at New Era, but later. However, he certainly knew me well enough to identify me.

Virtually every aspect of the al Qai’da operation in the US that I describe in this book are now discussed frequently on the nightly news as well as in Time Magazine and other major periodicals. To name just a few instances, in The Little Scroll I describe in detail al Qai'da's long-range planning, their use of check-cashing stores and non-profit organizations to fund the terrorist operations of al Qai'da, Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations, their connections (and large profits gained thereby) with international drug cartels, and their use of disguises and stolen identities to move freely between borders. Tragically, they even repeated their chosen targets of New York City and Washington DC on September 11, a prediction I made in 1998.

I have updated The Little Scroll to reflect recent events, including a visit in July by Ayman al-Zawahiri to the town I was until recently residing, in Bend, Oregon. He actually walked right in front of my apartment, with his eyes focused on the window adjacent to my computer station for too long to be casual. I have also identified al-Zawahiri as the man I saw at a gas station across the street from the Days Inn where Damien raised its ugly head, and also as the man who maintains a safe house in Marathon, Florida. Seeing through that disguise was a task in itself.  He does not even bother to change his appearance while in the US, other than the addition of a pair of blue coveralls and a slight change in the color of his hair and beard. Like all al Qai’da members, he will seem as friendly and as familiar as your grandfather, but he will cut your throat or blow up your building with relish and glee.

In synch with his cocky nature he justifies his long-term absences from his residence in Marathon to his neighbors (I have been to his house there) as a result of his career as a physician on call in various locations around the country. All true, I must admit. He could have added that his responsibilities also include frequent visits outside of the US, but they will not unnecessarily divulge their operations to anyone. Even then, there is no doubt I was the exception, although they had laid plans to insure that anything I had to say not too far into the future would be immediately discarded a the ravings of a madman. Alas, before September 11 the only people who did not respond in this manner were federal agents of the USA, and they were not willing to discuss these matters even with me other than in oblique terms.

One aspect of the senior hierarchy of al Qai’da worth noting is that they they delight in dropping hints using words, phrases and acronyms in reverse, due to their obedience to their god of choice, Satan. I write this not due to some religious bias, but based upon to my personal knowledge of these men’s behavior and their beliefs. They are, for lack of a better term, Satanists. I believe it I safe to say that this fact is not shared with recruits.

On December 10, 2001 CNN broadcast that the valley where it was believed Usama bin Laden was hiding out is called 'Molalla'. Readers of The Little Scroll will recognize Molalla as the town that 'Ken Smith' called his home, but he later told me that he was from Mulino, another Oregon town not far from Molalla. Apparently the core operatives were concerned that I could be a government agent, and therefore I may recognize the name of Molalla as also being located in Afghanistan. An astute CIA or Interpol agent might then infer Ken Smith’s true identity, especially since his patronymic name was plastered across the side of the old cedar mill.

In addition to New Era, I have direct knowledge of al Qai’da safe houses in Portland, Oregon; Brightwood, Oregon; San Bernadino, California; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Taos, New Mexico; Springfield, Missouri, Dallas, Texas, and Marathon, Florida.
